Awaiting a Holiday?

I have been eagerly wanting to check out the Ace Hotel in Portland for the past year, as it is just a ferry ride away it seams, but now I am setting my sights a little further!!! Check out Chicago's hip new Longman & Eagle Hotel;  The thing that sets this Logan Square boutique hotel apart is its down-to-earth decor — there are plenty of ideas here that could easily translate into an apartment bedroom, particularly if you're on a tight budget!
This past month we put up wood Panelling at Onlyhuman, and it looks Awesome! In a modern space, a hodge-podge of worn and weathered planks can do a lot to warm things up.
The exposed clothes hanger bolted to one wall is such a simple but useful idea. All you need is some pipe from Home Depot to make your own industrial chic valet for your go to daily clothes.
Totally diggin the free standing desk jutting into the room instead of pushed up against a wall!
Think beyond the bedside lamp, and try hanging a pendant in a corner or using directional sconces behind the bed. I love the idea of an accent wall of prints.  Or even think classic record covers in a pin-up grid is one way to get them up on the wall.
Love the juxtaposition of forms and textures at play in these bathrooms: A classic clawfoot tub in the same room with minimal boxy sinks. Warm dark wood paneling again with super shiny white subway tile topped off with a vintage curvy mirror.
Another great aspect of this look? It seems do-able on a budget. The materials — subway tile, penny rounds, open shelving, vintage mirrors and hooks — all are accessible and available at price points that shouldn't break the bank.
