Small and Simple

There is the most wonderful feeling within a nicely designed small space, and this home serves up a nice piece of perfection.  The seamless transition between old a new brings your eyes through the space and they have found the pin-point of balance. The use of skylights trickling down the brick walls brightens the whole main floor, while the floor to ceiling patio doors open the space even more. The white subway tiles compliment the rhythm of brick, while the white clarifies the new kitchen. I love that they chose not to use cabinet pulls and such simple lighting accents! Bueno!

Guess who's back?

Well ladies and gentleman, after my fall long hideous; I feel like I am back in action.  The past few months have been an incredible growth experience for me and I cannot wait to come back to The Bare Room with fresh eye and new inspiration. Not to mention I have a new work space, in a new house and what feels like a new life ? Funny how things change right before your eyes sometimes.
Let's start off with Pond Home + Clothed store in Sidney.. with all these gift guides out currently I may be adding a few items from here on to mine..

Norwegian

I have been mentally floating along the past while, but I have finally came across a home that turned my head and had my eyes devouring the design! This Nordic home makes my heart pump.  anything Norwegian I instantly love! (... I think a trip over seas may be necessary for me.)
The monochromatic colour scheme is just perfection! Smooth concrete and light wood accents bring the space together, while the blackened pine ceiling wraps the whole space up seamlessly. I repeatedly love the dramatic look created within a space by using the ceiling as a feature wall.

I AM the Beast

I keep finding myself having the same discussion with many of the closest people around me. One after another, and then it then struck me - we are all in a high transition period.  I didn't even see it in myself and was more questioning why the heck absolutely every element in my life is up in the air!?
I love love love being told when I’m doing something wrong. But right now I find myself stuck in a position where no one can seem to lend me an ounce of advice. Not to sound lame or uber cliche, but I’m just one who really thrives off of feedback and opportunities for improvement. I think it’s so important to get a new set of eyes on something and to seek every single opportunity to grow. Is there a more challenging way you could be doing something? Can you take what you’re already doing well and make it even more awesome? Can you grow anymore? (pssst–the answer is yes!)
